16th Seduction (Women’s Murder Club) – James Patterson
Fifteen months ago, Detective Lindsay Boxer's life was
perfect--she had a beautiful child and a doting husband, Joe, who helped her
catch a criminal who'd brazenly detonated a bomb in downtown San Francisco,
killing twenty-five people. But Joe wasn't everything that Lindsay thought he
was, and she's still reeling from his betrayal as a wave of mysterious, and possibly
unnatural, heart attacks claims seemingly unrelated victims across San
Francisco. As if that weren't enough, the bomber she and Joe captured is about
to go on trial, and his defense raises damning questions about Lindsay and
Joe's investigation. Not knowing whom to trust, and struggling to accept the
truth about the man she thought she knew, Lindsay must connect the dots of a
deadly conspiracy before a brilliant criminal puts her on
trial.
My Review:
I have been
a James Patterson fan since before James Patterson became James Patterson. My 10th grade high school boyfriend
gave me my first JP book, Kiss the Girls
and I was hooked! Almost 25 years later here I am…addicted to anything written by
James P and his many co-authors.
I have
followed Detective Lindsay Boxer and the Women’s Murder Club since 1st to Die and the stories
never fail to entertain. I always enjoy the way JP writes. His books are easy
to follow with the end of each chapter leaving you wanting more. In the
previous books, we have been with Lindsay as she married Joe and had her baby
girl all while juggling the crazy life of being a San Francisco detective. With
the help of her best girlfriends, she always solves each case, but this one hit
way too close to home. In 15th
Affair, Lindsay and Joe were in a dark place due to the secrets he kept.
Just when things were looking up and they were making moves to get their
relationship back on track, BOOM. Literally. Not only was Lindsay’s career on
the line as a result of a crackpot maniac but Joe was now fighting for his life
after being caught in a random bombing.
The suspense
was killing me and I ran through this one in less than a week. Great read, as
always! Can’t wait until Women’s Murder Club #17!
